Although WhatsApp began as an app designed for mobile phones, today we can also enjoy it on our personal computers.
Before we needed an Android emulator to be able to run the application on the computer.
Luckily now we don’t need any of that, we can easily download WhatsApp for PC because they have created versions for all the different types of computers that exist.
WhatsApp has become the most widespread and universal application on the market, with versions for all types of devices and operating systems, which is called a full-fledged multi-platform application.
How to install WhatsApp on a PC
To install WhatsApp on your PC, you need to download the version that suits your computer:
- You need to download WhatsApp for Windows if you have a PC with the Microsoft operating system.
- You need to download WhatsApp for Mac if you have a Mac OSX 10.9 or higher.
- You should know that when you first start WhatsApp desktop will ask you to scan the QR code to link your mobile.
Well, you can do this by entering the application from your mobile, clicking on the three dots that appear in the upper right (menu) and in the dropdown choose the option WhatsApp Web, you will open the camera to scan and just have to approach the QR code.
Once these steps are done, you will have the application ready to use.
Advantages of using WhatsApp on a PC
It is much more comfortable to type from a physical keyboard, it is also much faster and more reliable in terms of spelling errors.
Another advantage is that you can send files directly from the laptop. You don’t need to transfer them from your computer to your mobile phone and then send them.
It is also more convenient when managing contacts, chats, deleting messages or entire chats.
In short, it provides great convenience and speed for the same functions that you can do with the mobile version.
How to use WhatsApp Web
This is the PC version of WhatsApp, but without the need to install any program, we will use it from our Internet browser, we can say that it is a type of WhatsApp online.
To use WhatsApp Web we need to have Chrome on our computer, we can also use other browsers but they could give us problems, we recommend Chrome, which is one of the best internet browsers today.
From the browser we enter WhatsApp Web and it’s all very simple, in the main screen or login screen we will see the QR code, which we will have to scan from our mobile phone to link it.
To scan the QR code from our mobile, we must open WhatsApp, enter the menu (three-point button) and click on «WhatsApp Web».
Remember that in order to use Web WhatsApp on the computer we must have the application open on the mobile phone or wherever we have the app. This doesn’t mean that we can’t block the mobile, just that we have it in the background, without closing it (it’s like we have it almost always).
It is also necessary to keep the application updated in our mobile or download WhatsApp latest version with some frequency. If we do not have a recent version of the application, it is possible that we will have problems linking to WhatsApp Web.
How to use WhatsApp Web on a Tablet
On the tablet we can also download the WhatsApp app, but if we don’t want to take up memory or recent versions of the app are no longer compatible with our tablet, we can also use WhatsApp Web:
The first thing we’ll do is enter WhatsApp’s own website from the tablet’s browser, preferably Chrome.
Once we’ve logged in we need to click on the browser’s menu, which is the three-point button at the top right of the screen. As we can see in the next image.
WhatsApp Web Online
If the WhatsApp online service via the web has any drawbacks, it is that while you have it open you always appear online. This is something that bothers many users who are already making a record of it.
The solution to this is to close the browser you are using Web WhatsApp with, or at least close that browser tab. This doesn’t mean you’ve logged out, you’ll just stop showing up online.
If you are not logged out of your mobile phone, once you log in to WhatsApp Web again from your computer, you will be logged in directly without having to scan WhatsApp Web’s QR code.
Conversely, if you have logged out of the mobile app or turned it off, when you re-enter the computer web version, you will need to scan the QR code again as your session would have
